These are the rules AmpAinsoc works by. They are short on purpose, so that a reader can check whether we follow them.

1. Scope

AmpAinsoc publishes practical content on strength training, exercise technique, running, injury prevention, recovery and pain management, plus reviews of the gear that goes with it. Topics outside this scope are not covered, except as clearly labelled partner content.

2. Who writes and what they are

Articles are written and edited by Martin Wood, a recreational athlete with no medical or coaching qualification. There is no doctor, physiotherapist or dietitian on the team and no medical reviewer. Health-related articles are therefore general information, written from the published literature, and never a substitute for a consultation. We would rather state this than imply expertise we do not have.

3. Sources

For health and training claims: peer-reviewed studies, public health agencies (NHS, HAS, WHO and the like), and named practitioners. The source is linked in the text. A claim we cannot source is removed or presented as an opinion.

For gear reviews: the reviewer’s own use over several weeks, the manufacturer’s spec sheet, and other published reviews, named when quoted. The method is described on the how we test page. There is no laboratory.

4. Topic selection

A topic is taken on if it answers a real reader question and sits within the scope above. It is not taken on because a keyword has search volume.

5. Use of AI

Part of the archive was drafted with language models in 2024 and 2025 and is being reviewed. Since 2026, articles are written by a human and checked by a human before publication. AI tools may be used for research or editing; they do not publish anything on their own.

6. Updates

An article is updated when the information changes or an error is reported. The “updated” date reflects a real re-reading of the content, not a cosmetic change.

7. Errors

Any reported error is checked. If confirmed, the article is corrected with a dated note. The procedure is on the corrections page.

8. Commercial links

Affiliate links are disclosed on the page that contains them. Commissions have no effect on scores or rankings. Partner content is paid, published in its own category, labelled as such, and never cited as a source in our own articles.

9. What we do not publish

Diagnoses, dosage advice, treatment plans, and recommendations to stop or change a prescribed treatment. If a reader’s question needs one of these, the answer is to see a professional.
