This page explains what data ampainsoc.org collects, why, for how long, and what you can do about it. The site is published by Quentin Salmon, who is the data controller. Contact: info@ampainsoc.org.
What we collect
Server logs. The host, o2switch, records the IP address, browser and pages requested for every visit, for security and debugging. These logs are kept for twelve months.
Contact form. If you write to us, we keep your name, email address and message for as long as needed to answer, and twelve months at most.
Audience measurement. The site uses Google Analytics 4. It sets cookies on your browser and sends usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device type) to Google. IP addresses are truncated. Data is kept fourteen months. You can refuse this with your browser’s tracking settings, with an ad blocker, or with Google’s opt-out extension.
Comments and ratings. If you leave a star rating on an article, a cookie remembers that you voted. If you comment, your name, email and IP address are stored with the comment.
Newsletter. There is no active newsletter at the moment. The signup field in the footer is disabled.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising networks on the site, and we do not share your data with anyone except the host and Google Analytics as described above. Affiliate links take you to third-party shops (Amazon and others); their own privacy policies apply once you are there.
Legal basis
Server logs: legitimate interest (security). Contact form: your request. Analytics cookies: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing, or ask for a copy. Write to info@ampainsoc.org; we answer within a month. If you are not satisfied, you can file a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority.
