AdvocacyGeneral InformationThe American Pain Society has identified a broad agenda of pain issues and advocates in numerous arenas to improve the care of patients with pain. The society's goals in this activity are to advance the treatment of people in pain by ensuring access to treatment, removing regulatory barriers, and educating practitioners and policy makers in all settings about advances and economics of effective pain treatment. Components of APSs advocacy program include: On May 2, 2007 APS Board of Directors will call on Members of Congress to discuss national pain issues and to seek their support for the pain bill.
